Disabilities Assistance Payee Services (DAPS) is a Social Security Administration approved representative payee service. We provide financial management of Social Security benefits for individuals identified by the Social Security Administration. Our objective, coupled with social service treatment teams, is to form a relationship with our clients and to successfully manage individual funds and insure financial stability. Management of social security benefits include:

  • HOUSING
  • MEDICAL AND DENTAL EXPENSES
  • FOOD
  • PERSONAL CARE ITEMS
  • CLOTHING
  • REHABILITATION EXPENSES (IF NEEDED)
After all current expenses are paid, the remaining funds may be used to:

  • PAY PAST DUE BILLS
  • SUPPORT DEPENDENTS
  • ENTERTAINMENT
  • SAVINGS

WHY AND WHO NEEDS A PAYEE?

A Representative Payee is needed when an adult is judged legally incompetent by the State court; for a minor child, in the event that the Social Security Administration determines a legally competent adult is not available to help manage or direct the management of benefits.

APPLICATIONS PROCESS

In order to receive service that DAPS provides, you must complete the required documents. To do this, simply click the Forms link the top of this page and then click the intake application. Once you complete the application you can send it via e-mail, fax or mail. Upon receipt of an application received by email or fax, our normal turnaround in contacting you is within two business days. Please allow three to five days in follow up for applications sent by mail.
